Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with demonstrable Medical Secretary experience to join our new McLaren Performance Hub (MPH) team. The successful candidate will provide a high-quality secretarial and administrative service to the MPH, working closely with the Medical Director, Lead Physiotherapist, and Lead MPH Manager.
The aim of our new MPH is to drive performance by elevating the health and wellbeing of the entire McLaren Racing Team. We are designing and equipping a best-in-class facility which includes an on-site medical centre and gym to support our quest in becoming a World Championship winning team.
Role Dimensions:
Reporting directly into the Lead MPH Manager, the MPH Medical Coordinator will be responsible for providing medical secretary support to the medical team and administrative support to the wider MPH facility. This role requires someone who is outgoing, enthusiastic, and motivated, with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for health and wellness, especially in a demanding elite sports environment. Attention to detail and organisational abilities are also key to excel in this role.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Provide a high standard of secretarial service to meet the needs of the clinical team including typing clinic letters and appointment bookings.
* Assist in the day-to-day administration of the MPH in line with service needs.
* Provide MPH Reception cover, welcoming guests to the MPH and booking in patients for the medical centre.
* Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
* Respond to queries from colleagues, stakeholders, and other medical teams as required.
* Appointment scheduling as required and working with external partners to arrange follow-up appointments in line with agreed pathways.
* Coordinate with healthcare providers (i.e., Healix) to coordinate seamless patient pathways (e.g., ensuring referrals are sent in a timely manner).
* Manage the MPH generic email inbox.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards.
* Raise any risks and liabilities with the MPH Manager.
* Provide administrative support in the delivery of education and awareness programmes.
* Always observe and work within the parameters of the organisations’ policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Medical Secretary within a Healthcare setting is essential.
* Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Experience working within the health and wellness or healthcare industry.
* Proven ability to work under pressure and respond in an agile way to change.
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
