Data Protection - Information Management - 3 month contract (Umbrella - inside IR35) - Southampton (Hybrid) I am looking for an experienced Data Protection Specialist to support my client, a prominent organisation in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring data protection compliance and best practices within a complex and busy setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert guidance on data protection compliance, including GDPR and UK data protection legislation. Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new and existing projects, identifying and mitigating risks. Manage Information Rights requests (e.g., Subject Access Requests) in a timely and compliant manner. Investigate and respond to data breaches, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution. Develop and maintain privacy notices and policies that align with organisational practices and regulatory requirements. Oversee and advise on data sharing agreements, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards. Skills & Experience Required: Proven track record of working on data protection in l arge, enterprise environments. Strong understanding of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and related regulations. Experience with privacy governance frameworks and the implementation of organisational policies. Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders across all levels. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential. This role requires a proactive individual with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to balance legal requirements with practical business needs.
