Hospital Director - Mental Health
Location: South Wales - Easily commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend, Swansea, and surrounding areas.
Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week (flexible to meet service needs), including on-call responsibilities.
Salary Package: £75,000 Per annum
About the Role:
Appoint Healthcare is excited to partner with a leading healthcare provider to recruit a Hospital Director for a specialist Mental Health Service in South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to manage and develop a high-quality, patient-focused service for adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and associated complex behaviors.
As a key leadership figure, you will oversee all aspects of hospital operations, including strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial management, and staff development. The role demands a proactive, visionary leader who can drive innovation while ensuring the delivery of exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the operational and strategic management of the hospital, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Mental Health Act 1983, CQC).
Develop and maintain relationships with commissioners, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Deliver high-quality care by supporting multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans, treatment plans, and risk assessments effectively.
Oversee the hospital's budget, ensuring financial targets are met while optimizing resource use.
Provide strong leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Promote the retention, development, and performance of staff, ensuring compliance with training requirements and professional standards.
Act as an ambassador for the organization, enhancing its reputation among key audiences.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RNMH, RNLD, or RGN) or equivalent qualification with a valid NMC registration.
Extensive leadership and management experience within mental health or learning disabilities services.
Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory frameworks and healthcare legislation.
Proven experience in budgetary management, workforce planning, and driving service improvements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective partnerships.
Ability to lead through change, inspire teams, and achieve strategic objectives.
