A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join Bowling Park Primary School.
Bowling Park Primary is a three-form entry school for children aged 3-11 years old, situated over two sites in the culturally diverse areas of West Bowling and East Bowling in Bradford. The school has built excellent relationships with members of the local community, including parents of the children who attend the school.
With a current Ofsted rating of ‘Good’, Bowling Park Primary School exists to prepare and support children for their future, in a happy, healthy and safe environment. Our school is about preparing children for their futures and life in modern Bradford, Britain and the wider world.
Bowling Park Primary School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which consists of fourteen academies, including ten primary schools and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training.
The Site Manager plays a key role at the school, working closely with the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team, and Chief Estates Officer to manage the security of the building and proactively maintain the school site, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for staff regarding maintenance and will need to be customer-focused, polite, and helpful. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential to support and direct colleagues in contributing to an outstanding learning environment for our pupils.
The successful candidate will:
1. Undertake a variety of duties relating to the maintenance of the buildings and grounds
2. Promote the health and safety of all staff, pupils, and visitors
3. Be diligent and self-motivated in overseeing school site maintenance
4. Demonstrate a good understanding of Health and Safety requirements and keep up to date with changes to legislation
5. Supervise and direct the Site Team (caretakers) across both sites; driving is essential for this role
6. Maintain the security of the premises, working closely with the Headteacher
7. Have a flexible approach and the ability to use initiative
8. Possess excellent communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative staff team
9. Have a strong work ethic
The essential requirements of this role are:
1. Minimum of GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
2. Experience of working as a handyperson, caretaker, or site-keeper within a school or similar environment
3. A full UK driving licence
4. Detailed knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the role
