We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader to join our dedicated and friendly Payroll team here at CVS.

Summary of role:
Within this role, you will produce and provide a comprehensive and professional service throughout the organisation in respect of the payroll function and the coordination and supply of services relating to employees' pay and benefits.
Please note: this is a hybrid position where you will work 3 days a week at our Head Office in Diss and two days a week from home.
Key responsibilities and tasks to include:
1. Team Management:
o Lead and manage the UK payroll team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback (121s, engagement, team meetings).
o Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
o Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment on goals and projects.
2. Payroll Processing:
o Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
o Ensure correct application of payroll policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
o Handle complex payroll queries and provide solutions in a timely manner.
3. Compliance and Reporting:
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and ensure all processes are compliant.
o Generate regular payroll reports and provide insights to senior management.
4. Systems and Process Improvement:
o Find efficiencies and streamline processes.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and resolve issues.
o Act as the main point of contact for internal and external payroll audits.
6. Project Management:
o Lead payroll-related projects, such as system upgrades and policy changes, ensuring timely and effective execution.
o Assist in the integration of payroll operations during mergers and acquisitions.
Skills and experience required:
* High volume multi-site payroll environment experience.
* CIPP qualification desirable.
* Working knowledge of Resource Link payroll (not essential).
* Advanced level of Excel (e.g., vlookup, pivot table functions) and good Microsoft skills.
* Up-to-date working knowledge of HMRC legislation and Statutory Payments.
* Up-to-date working knowledge of Real Time Information, Pensions, GDPR, Gender Pay Gap.
* Providing high-quality Customer and Payroll Service, training team members to deliver.
* Attention to detail and ability to logically work through payroll issues.
* Strong ability to work to deadlines.
* Good time management and planning skills.
