Commercial Business Analyst
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: 12-month contract - Full-time
INTRODUCTION
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Commercial Business Analyst for a Public Sector client in Hemel Hempstead. The role involves delivering services within specified functions while ensuring adherence to quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control, and legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will support the Head of Service and Commercial Manager in delivering the corporate vision, values, and strategic priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery Accountabilities:
1. Extracting, analysing, and presenting data and service information, conducting benchmarking, market research, and external reviews on commercial opportunities including the Commercial Income Review and the Garage Portfolio Review.
2. Optimising income and identifying new revenue opportunities.
3. Researching new and innovative trends and activities that lead to cost-effective income generation as part of the ongoing Commercial Income Review.
4. Prioritising resource use to meet changing customer needs and demands.
5. Promoting and growing the local economy.
6. Developing a commercial culture that includes contract management.
7. Shaping external funding opportunities where appropriate.
8. Undertaking ad-hoc project-based work across the Commercial Programme.
9. Maintaining and updating knowledge of commercial delivery throughout the organisation.
10. Researching how other organisations use innovation to support corporate policy and strategy development.
11. Providing excellent customer service in collaboration with customer-facing staff and specialists.
12. Working with the wider Commercial Development team to enhance understanding and support the commissioning cycle and contract management.
13. Collaborating with Commercial and Procurement colleagues on commercial issues and queries.
EXPERIENCE
* Experience of working in a commercial environment.
* Experience in business/data analysis.
SKILLS / ABILITIES
* Ability to analyse and report data from various systems, including financial reports.
* Ability to identify and extract key data for specific commercial analysis.
* Ability to analyse and present data to shape key commercial decisions.
* Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft products including Word and PowerPoint.
* Confidence in challenging performance across the organisation, including with senior managers.
* Ability to develop innovative new performance ideas.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Ability to present complex messages understandably.
* Ability to analyse and think through complex problems.
* Effective communication skills - written, verbal, and presentational.
