Main duties of the job
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Finance Business Partner.
In this pivotal role, you will deputise for the Senior Finance Business Partner and be a key member of the Financial Management team. The role will have line management responsibility for a Management Accountant, providing leadership and guidance within the team.
You will be the lead finance representative for a number of Divisions, being the key point of contact for budget holders and managers.
This role will involve understanding the core business of the hospital to ensure a responsive and fit-for-purpose financial management function that meets the needs of the Trust.
The role will be required to aid the provision of expert strategic financial advice and information to managers and directors, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and integrity of management accounts information. This will require participation in effective decision making that leads to the delivery of financial targets and statutory duties, as well as maintaining high quality standards that support the short and long term financial planning processes, CIP plans, business cases and service developments.

Qualifications
* CCAB (Consultancy Committee of Accountancy Bodies) Accounting Qualification
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
* Experience of staff management or team leadership
* Experiencing providing financial advice and support to clinical and non-clinical leaders/managers
* Previous experience of oracle-based ledgers and reporting tools
* Good knowledge of financial aspects of NHS legislation and finance policies
* Extensive previous experience of financial management/management accounts
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including word, excel, outlook
* Excellent working knowledge of excel
* Able to motivate staff both within Finance department and across the organisation
* Ability to complete an annual financial planning and budgeting process
* Having the capacity to analyse complex problems and data in a logical and structured way using qualitative and quantitative information, generating optional and innovative solutions, and adapting approaches to problem-solving to achieve sustainable outcomes
* Able to analyse, compare and interpret highly complex financial and performance data using skills, knowledge, and judgement
* Able to make financial judgements on complex and/or sensitive issues where other leading opinions may conflict
* Highly able to effectively communicate in a verbal and written form complex information to finance and non-finance staff at all levels
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to express highly complex, sensitive, or contentious issues clearly, including strong abilities in being able to influence, persuade and negotiate.
