Job Description : Scotch Quality Manager Primary Location: Shieldhall, Glasgow Secondary Location: Elgin, Leven, Cameronbridge Full-time/Permanent Closing date: 29th October' 2024 Join our Supply & Scotch Governance Team The Scotch Governance Team is comprised of Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, Risk & Assurance, and Training functions, and our mission is to lead Scotch Governance with integrity; partnering growth, and delivering world-class reputation. Joining a wider Governance Team of 60 people who are passionate about what they do, providing functional expertise to support and maintain the delivery of high standards across our 50 sites. About this Role The primary focus of this role is to drive consistency of approach and standardisation across the Scotch category, embedding standards and leading improvement initiatives to enhance quality management across Scotch. The role holder will be required to lead/drive sites compliance with all legislation and internal Company Standards in a number of areas including the Product Quality Policy, Diageo key performance metrics and business objectives, Food Safety and ISO, Diageo Global Risk Management Standards (GRMS) and Quality Management Systems. The role holder will lead/drive the quality agenda across Scotch through engagement of the operational directors’ leadership teams and employees at all levels as well as build strong relationships with key external organisations to ensure the category aligns with Legislation, Standards, Policies, Codes, Specifications and Procedures, ensuring improved performance against all Quality critical metrics and delivery of strategy – with the goal of 100% compliance in all areas and quality “right first-time” culture across Scotch via employee awareness, assessment, and training. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Drive a proactive continuous improvement culture with a ruthless focus on corrective and prevention action. Implementing Quality AOP for the category aligned with category/groups and Global Quality Strategy. Compliance with legislation, Diageo Quality Policy, standards (including GRMS), and protocols; products that are safe for consumption, meet customer and consumer requirements and protect Diageo's reputation. Execution of Quality Objectives aligned to category goals and targets. Ensuring quality key metrics across all areas of the category – driving not only reporting but clear visibility, trending and improvement planning against the metrics across the category / Move function. Effective maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management and FSSC22000 Food Safety systems, ensuring the Food Safety Team Leader requirements as prescribed in FSSC22000 are carried out. Drive HACCP completion and act as HACCP / TACCP / VACCP SME across the category, advising the sites on best practice and standards. Continual improvement of Quality Management system effectiveness through the use of customer feedback, audit results and management review. Manage actions arising from internal and external audits or quality incidents. Liaison with relevant competent authorities for quality. Data collection, trending, analysis and reporting on progress towards goals and targets. Robust customer and consumer complaint process, demonstrating ‘passion for customers’ and attention to increased customer satisfaction obtained through robust root cause problem-solving. Drive Quality TRACC at a scotch level, working with OD groups to build and drive improvement plans. Support to and implementation of quality improvement and efficiency projects. Attendance and full participation in Quality Forum. Lead and support FACTS processes as required. Lead Scotch Crisis Management Team. To be successful in this role, you need: Educated to degree level in an appropriate scientific subject or equivalent. Quality management or similar experience preferably within food & drinks or, similar industry. Consistent track record in managing Quality related activities and ability to work across multi- functional teams. Proactive structured problem-solving skills learnt through exposure to DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manufacturing excellence. Excellent leadership, a skilled communicator and happy to have meaningful conversations with a wide variety of internal and external partners. Experience with SAP, Harford, etc. Highly autonomous and determined to establish the true facts in each problem and proven completer-finisher. Ability to influence key partners (both internals and externals) at multiple levels. A full clean UK Driving License with the ability to travel to other sites within Scotland when necessary.
