Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting and management. This role will involve overseeing accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting. The right candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare annual statutory accounts and management of annual audits in accordance with accounting standards.
2. Prepare and present monthly management accounts.
3. Submit quarterly VAT returns.
4. Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements.
5. Maintain and update fixed assets records.
6. Managing ledgers.
7. Produce and present budgets and forecasts.
8. Negotiate and administer company insurances.
9. Manage cash flow and bank balances.
10. Administration of Company House and National Statistics returns.
11. Utilise/implement company accounting software to manage financial transactions efficiently.
12. Provide cover for the Accounts Administrators duties, fostering a collaborative team environment.
13. Collaborate with Directors, shareholders, managers/other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as an Accountant within the construction/manufacturing industry.
2. Proficiency in using and implementing accounting software ideally MS Dynamics/Navision.
3. Qualified by experience or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
4. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
5. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Strong organisational, administration and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively within a busy environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate confidently with the business owner, managers and external stakeholders.
8. Able to improve processes, efficiency and support business growth.
9. Experience in managing, leading and training accounts teams.
10. Flexible in approach and able to deliver to deadlines.
11. Ability to share and support the vision of the Directors.
