Dependant on previous qualifications, you will be completing either a Level 2 Customer Services qualification or a Level 3 Business Administration qualification, where you will be provided with a tutor and support. Join our small, friendly and supportive Team for the next 18 months, where you will receive dedicated training and support to complete the Apprenticeship, whilst helping us to deliver our training plan to both colleagues within Adults and Housing and to the independent, voluntary, and private sector. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a varied role, to help make a difference to the people of Dorset. You will be confident when communicating with others, have good digital skills, with a high attention to detail and organisational skills. You will be positive, adaptable, proactive and willing to learn. This is our fifth Apprenticeship role, with our previous Apprentices having gone on to successfully gain further employment within Dorset Council, in a range of roles and Directorates. About us: The Team supports colleagues within Adults and Housing; as well as making courses available to the independent, voluntary, and private sector. We commission and deliver a range of learning and development opportunities and provide information, advice, and guidance on staff development. The Team's aim is not just to provide cost-effective solutions but to facilitate learning that fosters good practice and makes a difference to the service that is provided to Dorset residents. Adult Social Care & Housing covers a broad range of services, some of which are statutory and required to be delivered by law. Adult Social Care covers social work, occupational therapy, personal care, and practical support for adults over 18 with a physical or learning disability, old-age frailty, sensory loss and mental ill health. It also includes safeguarding for those at risk of harm and abuse, drug or alcohol dependency, and support for unpaid carers. Housing looks to deliver good and decent housing options for our residents, tackle homelessness and rough sleeping and through Community Safety, keep residents safe and well in their communities. To enable the Directorate to provide this service, the Team provides a comprehensive learning and professional development offer. This offer meets statutory requirements and supports and inspires a competent and confident workforce that promotes the safety, wellbeing, and good quality of life for the people of Dorset. Further Information Our Apprenticeships are designed to give you the hands-on experience needed, that brings out the best in you, with real responsibilities, real challenges, real projects and scope to grow your career. Undertaking this Apprenticeship, you will gain a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. The Apprenticeship will run alongside this role, with dedicated time allocated during your working hours to undertake the Apprenticeship. Your employment contract will be supplemented with an Apprenticeship Agreement for the duration of the Apprenticeship, which will enable you to spend 6 hours per week (or 20% of your time if your working week is less than 30 hours per week) on learning and development activities relating to the Apprenticeship. This role is fixed term for 18 months. The post holder will work at County Hall in Dorchester, however with hybrid working, there is the ability for home working with the requirement to attend our office to meet the needs of the customer and service.
