Wetheringsett Manor also incorporates the4-day working week for all staff after successfully passingprobation. This means that staff work 80% of their time but get100% of their salary, this is not a contractual change, butsomething designed to promote staffwellbeing.
Aboutthe Role
Are you looking to starta career in education? Do you want to make an invaluable differenceto young people with special educational needs? If so, we have anexciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join oursupportive environment at Wetheringsett Manor School.
As a TA, you will be responsible for safeguarding theyoung people and making sure they are healthy, safe and ascomfortable as possible. You will assist in their learning byoffering companionship and support, whilst ensuring their physical,mental and emotional needs are met. You will be required to preparelearning materials under the supervision of the teachers and toparticipate in learning activities. The TA will also be required toliaise with parents and staff with regards to the wellbeing of theyoung people.
This role involves working withyoung people who have complex behaviour associated with theirlearning needs. You will be trained to deescalate these situationsand put in place pro-active strategies to avoid similar situationsin future.
Who are we lookingfor?
As a dedicated SpecialEducational Needs school, we require a person who has a clearmotivation for working with young people with complex needs. We donot necessarily require you to be experienced as full training andsupport will be provided. However, you will need to becompassionate, enthusiastic, reliable and resilient. The idealcandidate should work well within a team, be able to organise andplan a workload, communicate effectively and be prepared to workwith varying types of difficulties.

Wetheringsett ManorSchool is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 100 pupilsaged 7-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successfuloutcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubledview of education and life.
Wetheringsett ManorSchool has gone through significant refurbishment and is based inSuffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. TheManor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with woodedboundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett.The accommodation also provides several other buildings including aconverted stable block, a cottage and two industrialunits.
We pride ourselves in steering childrenin the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them bothacademically and socially to encourage them to take pride in theirachievements.
