Role: Surgeon – Conflict Experience
Hours: Full time, with some weekend and evening working required to support the humanitarian programme delivery.
Remuneration: Negotiable (dependent on experience)
Duration: Minimum of 3 weeks at a time (longer availability of 6+ weeks is highly desirable).
Location: Internationally / any UK-Med response including Ukraine and or to various other locations.

Are you a General Surgeon with experience of working in conflict environments, interested in utilizing your expertise and knowledge to provide humanitarian aid in emergency response projects or seeking to establish your career in a humanitarian environment?
UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.
We are seeking experienced Surgeons who have advanced skills in managing conflict-affected patients in war and conflict zones. You will be able to make yourself available to travel and work internationally at short notice for a minimum of 4 weeks (longer availability of 6+ weeks is highly desirable).
Our ideal candidates will be fully licensed and experienced Surgeons, with a substantial background in delivering medical care to patients with diverse medical conditions, especially complicated patients affected by conflict. Proficiency in treating both adults and children is essential. Experience in low-resource, humanitarian, and conflict environments is essential.
You must possess full licensure as a Surgeon and be registered with an appropriate professional body. A medical degree with specialized training in Surgery is required. The nature of the work means that you will have to cover a broad spectrum of surgical procedures, including general, vascular, plastics, and orthopedic surgery.

2. Selection Training Stage: Applicants who pass the interview stage and do not have a minimum of 3 years of humanitarian experience will be required to complete a selection training.
