Job summary The Role of the Health Care Assistant is to assist and support the registered clinicians in ensuring optimal care for the patients. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care to the patients of the Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation. Basingstoke and North Hampshire Urgent Treatment Centre will be co-located to the Emergency Department. The UTC will assist the workflow by seeing 700 patients a month. These patients will consist of both adults and paediatrics. The patients will present with injuries or the lower acuity illnesses that can be more effectively managed in a UTC environment. Main duties of the job To support the qualified practitioners in the delivery of a seven day, twenty-four hour service, this includes: Providing effective evidence based care for patients referred to the service under the supervision of qualified practitioners Using personal effectiveness and knowledge to contribute to the development and delivery of a high quality, cost effective service. To work closely with the Multidisciplinary Team. To complete the Band 3 competency framework within the identified time scale Following the successful completion of the Band 3 competency framework the Clinical Support Worker will ensure that they act within their sphere of competence at all times and be confident and accountable for their actions Analytical and Judgemental skills Plan and progress patient interventions with basic assessing and planning on a daily basis with supervision of a qualified practitioner C About us Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
