We are delighted to be recruiting for a Data Protection Assistant to join us in our Ipswich Head Office on either a full- or part-time basis. With a salary of £25,000 to £30,000, you will provide efficient and effective services to ensure Fred. Olsen and its group companies comply with data privacy laws and regulations and assist with corporate and information governance. The work involves working with information relating to Fred. Olsen’s customers and employees, internal teams, external suppliers and stakeholders. Key Duties: Supporting the work and responsibilities of the Data Protection & Compliance Officer, such as assisting with data protection related queries and incidents. Assisting the Fred. Olsen group comply with data protection best practice and associated laws and regulations. Supporting processing of requests made by data subjects, investigation and administration of data protection breaches, including communication with internal departments to make relevant enquiries and production of reports. Assisting compliance with corporate governance responsibilities, including training, ESG, anti-bribery and corruption, modern day slavery and some company secretarial duties. Supporting the Information Security & Compliance Lead with administration related to certifications and management systems. Participate in audit and compliance activities in order to identify areas for improvement and good practice. Skills & Experience Required: Knowledge of privacy regulation and information governance standards and systems. Awareness of corporate governance issues, ESG, anti-bribery and corruption and modern day slavery. Strong communication skills - able to deliver clear, practical advice to colleagues in a constructive manner. Attention to detail, including good drafting skills. Good level of education, literate in English and Maths. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the addition of IT skills, in particular MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
