We are seeking a skilled Crime Intelligence Investigator to join our team in Nottingham. This role is crucial in reviewing events submitted by stores, linking people, vehicles, and cases, and building criminal case management files to support successful outcomes for our client, Boots.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Efficiently review CCTV systems to find relevant evidence and accurately build case files.
2. Join associated events linked by people, crime types, and vehicles to create investigations.
3. Provide witness statements for investigations created.
4. Support in the building of case files suitable for submission to CPS.
5. Communicate effectively with Police and Business Crime Partnerships to deliver positive outcomes on investigations.
6. Participate in Lessons Learned reviews following any Opal referral declines to work towards more future acceptances.
7. Share success stories from positive outcomes to the Boots management team so that the momentum from the team can be shared with the store estate for engagement purposes.
8. Prioritise events linked to top 10% of offenders, suspects in custody, and high culpability offenders (e.g., using weapons/violence).
9. Building and maintaining effective relationships with Police, NCA, Opal, and Business Crime Partners.
10. Share best practices so that the team's Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) contain the most effective and efficient way of doing things for reference and training.
11. Taking personal responsibility for data protection of the work undertaken, following all relevant legal processes and Boots policies to ensure compliance.
12. Maintain investigations with the following information: CRNs, Stocklists, Epos data, CCTV Images/Footage, business impact statements, and witness statements.
13. Ensure any evidence is shared with relevant approved recipients as per process.
14. Actively monitor crime and data trends.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence positive outcomes from Policing and crime partnerships and to support the building of investigation packs.
2. Ability to efficiently navigate IT systems.
3. Proficient in the use of analytical software.
4. Ability to take a raw product and develop it into investigative lines of enquiry.
5. Attention to detail and focus on quality.
6. Resilience and agility to pivot quickly in the event of a new high value/volume offender(s).
7. Ability to prioritise own workload.
8. Good understanding of the Theft Act and different crime definitions.
9. SIA Licence and proficiency in reviewing CCTV systems to gather evidence.
10. Good understanding of civil prosecution legislation.
11. Knowledge of data protection laws and compliance with relevant legal processes and company policies.
12. Ideally trained to PIP 1 grading or appropriate equivalent professional accreditation.
