The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is the department for economic growth. We support businesses to invest, grow and export, creating jobs and opportunities across the country:
We do this by:
* reforming regulation, protecting consumers and promoting competition at home.
* opening up markets, removing barriers and promoting free trade abroad.
* providing advice, finance, promotion and support to businesses.
We are united by a common set of values and expectations for our staff to be Excellent, Connected, Confident and Collaborative.
Your role will belong within the Project Delivery and Change Directorate, specifically supporting the work of Change Management Advisory and Capability. The directorate sits at the heart of the department’s Corporate Services and reports into the Chief Operating Officer (COO). A key objective is to uplift capability of Change Management within the department, rolling out best practice through frameworks, guidance, advisory support and through the provision of relevant learning and development in capability building. It is the vision of the Change Advisory Team ‘to provide all change initiatives with the highest level of Change Management support and capability, resulting in a more resilient, change ready department’. You will support this vision in upskilling the capability of our change resources across the department to ensure effective practice in this discipline.
Your role will contribute towards our priority outcomes, underpinned by one of our four Strategic Enablers: People & Capability.
You will ensure that our change professionals have access to inspiring tools and the appropriate skills and knowledge to deliver change well; considering the people impacted at all stages of project delivery. You will lead in the development and upskilling of a number of stakeholder groups: ‘all staff’ in improving Change Readiness; ‘Change Practitioners’ who require capability to effectively lead change initiatives in different areas of the department; ‘Line Managers’ who are a key enabler of successful implementation of change initiatives, and our ‘Senior Leaders’ whose understanding of Change Management is crucial in ensuring effective organisational change and reducing resistance to change.
You will be expected to:
* Create, organise and deliver Change Management Sessions to support education and awareness of Change Management for various stakeholder groups across the Department.
* Analyse and interpret our capability records to provide a complete picture of capability, identifying key themes and areas for development.
* Lead the Change Management Community of Practice Network and provide targeted support for network members and arrange keynote speakers.
* Lead on creating, updating, and maintaining the internal Change Management resources and webpages, to enhance our change management maturity levels.
* Support the Change Management Capability Lead in delivering bespoke Change support interventions to teams across the department.
* Champion best practice in Change Management and provide expert advice for team members and the project/change community, supporting the identification and development of benefits and delivery approaches.
* Provide support to the Change Advisory Lead to assure all embedded change managers within projects and programmes are supported and producing proportionate deliverables.
This role will report to the Change Capability Lead and will have line management responsibility of a Higher Executive Officer.
