We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Business Support Officer/Administrator to join our bustling Business Support Service. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving positive outcomes for the people of Newham while contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
From Housing and Environment to Children’s and Adults’ services, our Business Support team delivers top-notch administrative expertise to a range of critical Council services. As part of this energetic team, you’ll tackle varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, making every day exciting and rewarding.
* 21.5 hours permanent in Adult social services business support.
About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following attributes:
* Proven ability to adapt to shifting work priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
* Strong emotional resilience and the capacity to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
* Excellent minute-taking skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* High-level oral and written communication skills, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all correspondence.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage a personal workload.
* Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving and task completion.
* Versatility in managing a wide range of administrative and clerical responsibilities.
* Advanced IT proficiency, with the ability to quickly learn and utilise new systems and tools.
* Flexibility and adaptability to collaborate effectively as a team member in a dynamic environment.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding or social care services is desirable.

About Us
The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. It is well connected by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the Theatre Royal Stratford East offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.
