This role will focus primarily on civils and buildings asset management projects, in the central and south sections of the LNW route, based from our offices in Tamworth. Business UnitOur busy and fast-paced business unit is engaged in various infrastructure projects and framework contracts across both rail and non-rail civil engineering environments. Our work encompasses a range of projects, including bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels, structural steel installations, and moving structures. We collaborate with various clients and tier 1 contractors on multi-disciplinary civils projects throughout the North West region, whether they involve new infrastructure or maintenance works. The RoleAs a Project Manager, you will be directly responsible for the daily management of rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio, specifically focusing on Civils & Buildings Asset Management projects. The projects will typically range in value from approximately £5k to £2m. You will lead successful contract delivery by ensuring that the site team is well-informed of the contract parameters and possesses the necessary capability and resources to meet contract objectives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Engaging in projects at all stages, from pre-qualification and tendering through to completion. Ensuring that the site team is fully informed of contract parameters, capabilities, and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives. Executing the contract in accordance with all applicable legislation, the contract’s Terms and Conditions, the Health and Safety Plan, and the Quality/Environmental Plan. Delivering contracts within agreed program timelines and budget. Controlling and managing subcontract resources to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Continuously monitoring contract progress to ensure that objectives are being met. Working with the Project Delivery Team to identify, agree on, and manage changes to the contract effectively. Providing formal reports on contract progress to the Framework Manager. Identifying potential business development opportunities. RequirementsTo excel in this role, you will need previous experience as a Project Manager in a rail and civil engineering maintenance environment. The following qualifications and experiences are essential: A degree, HNC, or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role). Possession of a PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. Prior experience as a Project Manager within a rail contracting environment, particularly on civils-associated projects/frameworks. Familiarity with asset management and maintenance frameworks for civils and building projects.
