Job Overview
Due to the extensive nature of our customers' portfolios, and the volume of information and data involved, this role is key in enabling smooth delivery of our contract commitments and focusing attention on providing an excellent, robust service.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Energy professional to lead our Portfolio Management team.
Our Portfolio Management team provides support across all departments within our Energy / Decarbonisation division and is responsible for managing portfolios on behalf of our customers as well as being the single point of contact for customers relating to any portfolio queries. The team are also responsible for the generation, content and delivery of our standard reports including providing actionable insights to ensure our data maintains reliability.
The team is key in supporting our Data Management team to resolve queries relating to site and meter changes and ensuring that our systems remain accurate at all times. The team will also manage supplier relationships from an operational perspective and provide an escalation route for all supplier (energy, metering, data collection) issues.
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team as well as management of the processes that are followed by working with our other heads of department to ensure a seamless delivery across all service lines to our customers. The successful candidate should have an extensive level of technical knowledge in energy systems, supplier relationships, and have an extensive knowledge of industry charges / systems whilst maintaining a focus on customer management.
Main duties
* Collaborate with our C-Suite customers, establishing strong relationships and offering valuable insights to help them make well-informed decisions related to energy and carbon management.
* Lead a team of talented energy professionals, ensuring constant opportunities for career growth and development within the team. Completing regular catch-ups and annual MiReviews.
* Identify and evaluate growth opportunities within the Corporate and SME markets, owning a pipeline of potential projects which will be tracked through our Igniting Growth workstream, and ultimately contributing to the success of the company.
* Assist the team in its pursuit of ongoing enhancement, collaborating with our leadership team to provide a world-class service that exceeds client expectations and sets the standard for excellence within the industry.
* Oversee customer queries and data requests, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and effectively, while systematically and regularly logging and tracking their progress to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Lead and coordinate both internal and external entities in resolving clients' ad-hoc queries, ensuring prompt and efficient solutions are provided to maintain client satisfaction.
* Take the lead on regular customer calls and face-to-face meetings, providing necessary updates related to your area of expertise and ensuring open communication channels are maintained for a streamlined and effective customer experience.

Requirements
* You will have managed a team at a senior level and have proven ability to build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and teams.
* You will have managed customers at all levels and be able to prove how your customer focus has built long-standing relationships.
* You have extensive experience or knowledge of the energy sector.
* You will be commercially astute and aware with a good understanding of all services lines for each assigned customer and can field questions regarding all Mitie Plan Zero teams.
* You excel at producing high-quality communications and presentation materials for senior audiences, with the ability to convey complex topics simply and compellingly.
* You have strong quantitative and qualitative skills; you are highly organised with strong interpersonal and management skills with an ability to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities amongst multiple tasks.
* You possess a demonstrable knowledge of the tools that can be applied to strategic challenges, and you're adept at using these to navigate and resolve complex issues.
* You're willing to work across a range of issues and able to adapt quickly as priorities change.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven background in working in an energy services team.
* Demonstrable experience in leading teams.
* Track record of working with large data sets, with appreciation of data visualisation.
* Knowledge of all industry partners including the MOP/DC/DA market.
* An understanding of energy and carbon management terminology, principles, and methodologies.
* Proven ability with Excel and other data analytic tools.

The successful candidate will be based in London, Northampton or another Mitie office, but also be expected to attend meetings at customer sites from time to time. Flexible working from home is available 2-3 days per week at management's discretion.
