To inspect Own Brand and Branded product categories against the designated quality standards (Quality Attribute Sheets) to ensure compliance to Waitrose brand standards. To report & communicate product assessment outcomes to all stakeholders within required timescales. To liaise with Depots in monitoring supplier quality delivery standards. To support the Warehouse partners & staff in maintaining good operational standards within the Warehouse.
Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract and we have 2 positions available.
Working pattern - The Depot Quality Inspector is required to be in the Bracknell Depot 5 days a week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings at other Depot locations including travel to our sites in Aylesford or Waitrose branches. Travel to other sites is able to be claimed as an expense.
Location - This role is based at our Bracknell Distribution Centre.
Working hours - Flexibility may occasionally be needed if we have large depot deliveries scheduled for out of core working hours for this role (0900-1730 Mon-Fri).
Key responsibilities
1. To inspect Own Brand and Branded product categories against a quality assessment standard to ensure compliance to Waitrose brand standards at designated Waitrose distribution centre and branches.
2. To make appropriate decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of stock which is out of specification.
3. To liaise with Depots to monitor supplier delivery standards relating to product Quality.
4. To support the Warehouse partners & staff in maintaining good operational standards within the Warehouse.
5. Enter, update and accurately maintain product inspection data relating to quality in the relevant Quality, Regulatory & Technical database for all product assessments conducted.
6. With agreement from the Quality Technologist and Technical Manager undertake product reviews in depot with suppliers present where this could be beneficial in highlighting or resolving an ongoing quality issue.
7. Carry out follow up product quality reviews after third party Benchmark fails against quality. Implement any follow up required by the TM, and QT.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
1. Experience of quality control systems and good IT skills including Spreadsheets.
2. Presentations and database management.
3. Experience of food and drink quality systems.
4. Experience in the implementation of food related quality systems.
5. Experience interrogating multiple information sources and writing reports.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
1. Experience of fresh produce quality management.
