The Banbury site has been part of the Newly Weds Foods family since 2010. During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people. We have a Bakery, a Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory which operate over a range of shifts. We have on-site departments including Production, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, HR, QA, Finance and Payroll, and a dedicated on-site R&D team.
The Position
Newly Weds® Foods Ltd is looking to recruit a Night Shift manager to join the Bakery department.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate who has proven experience of managing a team within a fast-paced production environment. This role would suit someone organised, methodical and flexible who has, ideally, had previous experience of working within the food manufacturing industry.
This role is working on our 12- hour rotational night shift from 7pm to 7am. Week one you will be working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and week two you would be working Wednesday and Thursday, and so on)
Main Function
To lead the team to ensure the process is optimised on all the parameters of quality, cost, delivery, safety, personnel and environment. (QCDSPE). This specifically entails:
1. The achievement of Production targets across all shifts.
2. The use of the correct resources in an efficient manner.
3. To ensure that all production schedules are followed and are achieved.
4. At all times ensure health and safety practices are adhered to at all times within your area.
5. Instil the highest levels of motivation and work satisfaction within the staff.
6. To achieve the specified quality standards at all times.
7. To ensure the working area meets all site GMP standards.
8. Ensuring the environmental standards are employed at all times.
9. Improving the production processes. Proactively looking at ways to improve on Quality, Cost, Delivery, safety, Personnel and environment. (QCDSPE).
Accountabilities- Or what you have to do (QDSCPE)
Quality
o Work in close liaison with operations shift team, Engineering team, IT, Planning, Quality, R & D on QCDSPE targets to develop Improvements to lines or process.
o Work closely with Quality to resolve Pest control NCF, Quality NCF & Customer complaints ensuring Root Cause analysis is conducted and robust preventions are put in place and communicated out.
Delivery
o Co-ordinate and facilitate all production requirements for the Bakery & Gluten Free Crumb, Gluten Free Blend working closely with the stakeholders the principle ones are.

o Regularly review SOP Procedures and look at CI Initiatives to improve standard performance.
o Ensure staff level and Skill level meet the needs of the process Area
o Hold weekly Briefs with the teams updating on department performance and Customer complaints, Product NCF, Health & safety Tool Box talks, General brief.
Safety
o Working with the Health & safety Advisor on Reviewing Risk assessments and updating as necessary reporting any Near Misses working together to find solutions.
o Daily shift Safety Walks
Cost
o Ensure products are Made Right First time
o Work with R & D teams on new product development and trials ensuring trial reports are completed so that Records maintained and agree on product process, communicate to bakery manager any products that do not conform to SOP process so that products are costed correctly.
Personnel
o Work with HR department on key issues with teams and manage the issues to ensure all staff are treated fairly and consistently.

§ RTW – ensure any request for Occupational health are requested

§ Staff Training & Matrix
§ Disciplinary are managed and monitored to ensure the staff are meeting the behavioural and competence required to meet the standards as expected from them for the Job Role they are employed in.
§ Working with the recruitment specialist identify open job vacancies and be available to attend interviews to recruit for the open positions.
Environment
o Work closely with other Process Areas to support portability of staff to meet the needs of the different Areas as and when needed
o Close out all Site NCF’s Actions with Robust Preventative measures working with relevant departments

Working hours / pattern – 12-hour rotational day shift (the working hours are 7am to 7pm and during the first week you would be working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the second week you would be working Wednesday and Thursday, and so on)
