Service Engineer
Looking for a hands-on engineering role with real variety, technical depth, and the chance to work on truly unique products – without constantly living out of a suitcase? This could be the one.
We’re working with a world-leading engineering and manufacturing business specialising in sensor technology and scientific instrumentation – and they’re one of only two companies in the world doing what they do. Their solutions are complex, high-precision, and used across a variety of industries – and now they’re looking to bring a Service Support Engineer into their growing team.
This role is a great fit for a Field Service Engineer looking to reduce travel, or a Static/Workshop Service Engineer who wants more variety and technical challenge. You’ll be predominantly based on-site (about 75%), with some travel to customer sites (around 25%) for installation, support, and service.
You’ll be involved in everything from testing, diagnostics, repairs, and fault-finding, through to analysing system data and feeding insights back into the engineering team.
The business is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who’s comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative team. If you’ve got a curious mind, a hands-on attitude, and you like solving tricky technical problems, you’ll fit right in.
And if you’re someone who enjoys tinkering, building, or experimenting with tech in your spare time – they’d love to hear about that too. This is a team that values passion just as much as experience.
What you’ll be doing as a Service Support:
1. Supporting and maintaining complex sensor-based instrumentation
2. On-site fault diagnostics and repairs, plus occasional field support (approx. 25% travel)
3. Analysing system performance data to identify and resolve issues
4. Collaborating with engineers to improve and evolve the product range
5. Recording service activities and maintaining accurate documentation
What they’re looking for:
1. Previous experience in a service, support, or test engineering role
2. Exposure to multi-disciplinary systems (electronics, mechanical, and software)
3. Experience with scientific instrumentation or high-tech equipment is highly desirable
4. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
5. A motivated, proactive individual who thrives both solo and in a team
6. Any extra-curricular technical hobbies or side projects? Tell us about them!
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a close-knit, world-class team working on technology that’s genuinely one-of-a-kind. If you’re looking for that perfect mix of hands-on engineering, product variety, and career progression – this is it.
Interested? Apply now or send across your CV – we’d love to hear from you.
