About the Role:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will teach engaging lessons across History, Geography, and Religious Studies. You will inspire students to think critically, explore important global issues, and develop a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities of a Humanities Teacher:
* Teach Humanities subjects (History, Geography, and Religious Studies) to secondary school students.
* Create exciting and challenging lessons that inspire students to think deeply.
* Assess student progress and give helpful feedback to help them improve.
* Build a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to share ideas and discuss topics.
* Make lessons relevant to students' lives to spark interest in the Humanities.
* Work with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and curriculum.
* Get involved in extracurricular activities and school events related to Humanities.
* Support students' well-being and offer help where needed.
Required Qualifications to be a Humanities Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum and a passion for the subjects.
* Experience teaching Humanities at secondary school level (ECTs welcome).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to motivate and engage students with complex topics.
* A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom.
* A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
* Updated CV (covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willing to apply).
