An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mid & South Essex Non-Surgical Oncology Services as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), leading the development of an innovative digital Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) service.
We are looking for an experienced prescribing pharmacist or nurse who thrives in an autonomous clinical role and has expertise in managing patients undergoing SACT.
This pioneering position will focus on implementing a digitally supported service, integrating electronic Patient Reported Outcome Measures (ePROMS) to assess patient readiness for treatment.
Main duties of the job
The Key Responsibilities for this exciting role include the following:
* You will lead the design and delivery of a groundbreaking ACP-managed digital SACT service, initially focusing on breast cancer patients receiving CDK4/6 inhibitors.
* Provide specialist clinical leadership, ensuring exceptional patient care, safety, and treatment effectiveness.
* Develop and streamline a virtual pathway for oral cancer therapies across all Trust sites.
* Utilise advanced clinical decision-making and remote patient assessment skills to manage SACT-related side effects and complications.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, quality improvements, and best practices.
* Act as a senior clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, integrating research and innovation into practice.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Professional Registration (RGN OR BOPA)
* Diploma or Degree level study (or equivalent)
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in ACP
* Recognised Advanced Clinical Practitioner skills including advanced assessment skills, electing and recommending appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic management.
* Leadership qualification Evidence
* Non-Medical Prescriber
* SACT qualification
Desirable criteria
* Recognised teaching qualification
* Master's degree in Advanced Practice
Experience
Essential criteria
* Advanced practice at advanced level for 3-5 years plus post registration experience of at least 8 years.
* Evidence of effective interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise with multidisciplinary team members.
* In-depth knowledge proven in cancer oncology SACT.
* Examples of advanced communication.
Desirable criteria
* Current experience in managing the deteriorating oncology patient, including the safe transfer of patients.
