We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to join our Manchester team as an Assistant Transport Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic company that continues to grow and invest in cutting-edge technology and machinery.
Responsibilities
* Undertake duties in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures Ensure, advise and instruct the operator to be compliant to operating legislation at all times.
* Assist the Transport Director and Fleet Manager. .
* Work with the Company to ensure maximum availability of vehicles to deliver our service.
* Maintain high standards of compliance at all times.
* Ensure and oversee that an effective vehicle defect reporting system is in place.
* Vehicle maintenance planning.
* Ensure all vehicles are operated in a roadworthy condition and in full compliance with all Health and Safety measures/equipment.
* Ensure and oversee that correct vehicle maintenance procedures (PMI’s and repairs) are in place.
* Monitor External Maintenance Contractor’s and visit workshops regularly.
* Ensure vehicles are presented for PMI’s on the correct dates.
* Ensure vehicles are booked in and presented for MOT’s on the correct days
* Monitor OCRS scores and encounter reports.
* Maintain and audit maintenance records and ensure they are kept for 15 months.
* Ensure drivers conduct daily walk round checks efficiently.
* Attend prearranged DVSA inspections at operating centres.
* Ensure drivers schedules are in compliance with EEC & domestic driving rules.
* Ensure driver’s cards & VU’s are downloaded at the required intervals.
* Ensure, arrange and oversee “Driver CPC Training “ program.
* Support and maintain the Company’s FORS & CLOCS accreditations.
* Deal with and report any vehicle collisions in a timely and professional manner
