Experienced and proactive Process Improvement Engineer required by our globally renowned client to identify, implement and sustain continuous process improvement activities across a busy manufacturing operation. Our client has been established for more than 35 years and is recognized as a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and distribution of an impressive portfolio of electrical cabling and connection solutions for supply throughout the world. As a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced, hands-on and proactive Process Improvement Engineer to complement their professional and successful manufacturing team.
Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager, the Process Improvement Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and identifying areas for improvement within various manufacturing processes, undertaking research before designing and implementing solutions that will increase production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve quality while reducing waste and scrap levels to achieve optimal production output.

You will strive to ensure that KPIs and metrics are both achieved and exceeded.
You will be tasked with reviewing current business processes to identify areas of improvement, utilizing your comprehensive understanding of lean principles, continuous improvement, and problem-solving tools to identify and eliminate waste and production bottlenecks. This includes providing detailed plant expenditure proposals using project management tools (Planner) to restructure manufacturing flow across various departments and environments, as well as collecting accurate data to analyze and improve processes and support problem-solving activities within the manufacturing function.
Other responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) issuing documentation and implementing staff training on new procedures to improve efficiencies and ensure competency, resolving quality issues related to product capability, surface finish, and shape, ensuring consistent repeatable processes and product quality, and performing site and building layout and design, analyzing and planning workflow, personnel movement, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve all areas of process flow, efficiencies, and output.
To be considered for this varied and challenging hands-on Process Improvement advocate role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have at least 4 years of proven experience gained within a dedicated process improvement manufacturing environment and demonstrable considerable project management success. Essentially, you will be skilled and qualified in various lean manufacturing processes and methodologies (5S, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban, etc.) and realistically qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably chemical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering), with experience of AutoCAD and the MS suite of products. With excellent influencing and communication skills at all levels and the ability to diagnose and define problems, measure/collect and analyze data, determine root cause, select and implement solutions, and control/sustain outcomes, you will be both results and data-driven to improve and sustain change, thriving within a continuous improvement-focused environment, and able to motivate others to be the same.
