We are seeking an experienced NPI Project Leader to coordinate and manage the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring they are completed on time and aligned with customer deliverables. Acting as the key point of contact for customers, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure every aspect of the project—safety, quality, training, and development—is executed seamlessly. Your leadership will drive projects forward, addressing challenges and delivering outstanding results.

Requirements:
Essential:
1. A technical degree or equivalent experience in technical or managerial roles.
2. Strong project management skills with proven experience in delivering successful project execution.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
4. Knowledge of API manufacturing, including chemical safety, cGMP requirements, and cost efficiency.
Desirable:
1. Proven planning and organisational skills to support effective project management.
2. Awareness of commercialisation requirements for new APIs, including process development, scale-up, and regulatory aspects.
3. Experience with technology transfer projects.
4. Green Belt certification or willingness to train, with a strong interest in continuous improvement methodologies.
5. General understanding of analytical activities used in NPI projects.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Project Management:
1. Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring all activities are monitored, updated, and delivered on schedule.
2. Lead cross-functional meetings to plan and manage project delivery.
3. Maintain active involvement in daily management processes to monitor project progress.
4. Escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary and recommend actions to recover project timelines.
Customer Coordination:
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
2. Manage change orders for scope changes, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
Risk Management:
1. Create a project risk register and implement strategies to mitigate potential impacts on time, cost, or quality.
Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Work collaboratively with internal departments, ensuring alignment on project objectives and timelines.
2. Influence and lead cross-functional teams, leveraging their expertise to achieve project goals.

Our Cramlington site, just north of Newcastle, has an established history of cGMP manufacturing services for an array of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), ranging from pilot scale to commercial metric ton scale. The Cramlington Site has more than 100 cubic meters reactor commercial capacity and has been inspected and approved by the MHRA, FDA and other regulatory authorities. The site operates from small scale in the laboratory through to large manufacturing scale. It also offers chemistry and analytical development service.
