About The Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and professional Information & Security Officer to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic, provide visitor assistance, and ensure the security of the Cemetery & Crematorium. This is an essential role that requires a high level of communication, attentiveness, and respect for all stakeholders, including bereaved families and funeral service providers.
Key Responsibilities
* Control entry and exit of vehicles, visitors, clergy, and funeral cortges.
* Direct funeral cortges and the bereaved to appropriate chapels.
* Conduct security patrols using CCTV and ensure a safe environment.
* Assist and provide information to cemetery and crematorium stakeholders.
* Operate audio and visual systems during chapel services.
* Oversee the disposal of ashes as instructed.
* Provide first aid treatment and maintain qualifications.
* Drive a 17-seater minibus service on weekends.
* Ensure chapels are clean and maintained to a high standard.
* Manage visitor enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
* Work closely with funeral directors, clergy, and other visitors.
Person Specification
* Strong communication skills with excellent spoken English.
* Experience in security, visitor management, or customer service roles.
* Ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in sensitive situations.
* Understanding of health & safety regulations and security procedures.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
* A valid first aid certification (or willingness to obtain one).
* Ability to drive a 17-seater minibus (preferred but not essential).
