Personal Injury Executive & Portal Supervisor - Ipswich The Portal Team The team deals with personal injury cases arising from road traffic accidents (RTA), with a value up to £25,000. The team handles a large volume of MOJ Portal and OIC Portal personal injury cases, funded by way of Legal Expenses Insurance policies and Conditional Fee Agreements. The Role As well as a running a small caseload of your own, you will be an experienced team leader with a passion for leading and training a team which provides an outstanding client service. You need to be a confident, effective communicator and able to build relationships. You will be used to taking ownership of your team and their tasks, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and risk management. Committed to continuous improvement, you will be expected to review processes, identify efficiencies and implement these through positive change management. Duties include: Supervisor Responsibilities Developing the knowledge of, and training, the team Providing technical knowledge and support to the team Dealing with client queries and complaints Overseeing the daily team activities, optimising resources and ensuring quality service delivery Allocating work effectively and monitor team productivity to meet KPIs Conducting one-to-ones and performance reviews and ensure all team members have clear objectives Organising training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure team members are fully equipped to perform their roles Maintaining and improve internal processes, ensuring effective cross-team communication and documentation Maintaining relationships with work providers and suppliers Fee Earning and Legal Responsibilities The ability to efficiently deal with all aspects of the Fixed-Cost RTA claims processes Considering evidence from different sources Identification of higher value / TBI type cases at an early stage Making judgments / decisions relating to liability, quantum and causation Liaising with clients and progressing matters effectively and efficiently Knowledge, skills and experience required Our ideal candidate will have/be: A qualified Solicitor or qualified Legal Executive (CILEX) Experience of working in a legal environment Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and good knowledge of the relevant Pre-Action Protocols Experienced at dealing with client queries and complaints The ability to deal with clients and third parties in a professional and competent manner is essential Strong organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills Ability to manage team productivity and prioritise tasks effectively Excellent attention to detail and experience in a process-driven environment Strong administrative and analytical skills with the ability to handle sensitive information IT proficiency, ideally with claims or insurance systems Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to meet new challenges head-on. Good organisational and time management skills Excellent business English required for letter writing and document drafting Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach Courteous and efficient telephone manner Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills Ability to display empathy to clients The team are all based in the Ipswich office. Many are inexperienced and need daily training and supervision. The ideal candidate, therefore, needs to be committed to attending the Ipswich office in person for the majority of the week.
