Applications are invited for the post of Specialist Doctor - radiology. The expansion of the department, accelerated by the opening of CommunityDiagnostic Centers, has provided the capacity to increase our medical workforce numbers. The role involves integrating into well-established teams butalso to develop, with support, new areas of interest. A contribution to the department's general work is expected but most sub-specialist interestscan be accommodated. The ethos of the department is to provide an excellent patient experience through team work, both internally and with ourclinical colleagues
Main duties of the job
A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and their clinical director on behalf of the medical director three months after thecommencement date of the appointment. The job plan should be reviewed annually. It will cover all aspects of a Doctor's professionalpractice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities, including a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. It should include personal objectives, including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the supportrequired by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. A typical 10 PA job plan will include 2 sessions of SPA. The DCC will consist of(not exclusively) multimodality reporting sessions, ultrasound lists where appropriate and MDT cover/preparation.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* oMBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* oFRCR.
Clinical Experience/ Skills/ knowledge
* oFour or more years of post-graduate training.
* oTwo or more years of experience in radiology
* oMedical experience after the foundation programme or equivalent.
* oEvidence of competencies in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice
* oAble to demonstrate proficiency in a range of radiological procedures.
* An understanding of clinical governance
Personal Skills
* oDemonstrates clarity in written / spoken communication & capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation
* oAble to build rapport, listen, persuade & negotiate
