As an advocate for our residents, you will play a crucial role in leading clinical teams to provide and maintain the highest standards of nursing and care, while supervising colleague training and performance. Your skills will shine as you champion dignity and safety, serve as a role model to those working with you, and provide a true sense of purpose to those living with us.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Assisting the Home Manager and/or Deputy Manager with administrative duties as well as nursing/care tasks
* Maintaining overall responsibility of nursing/care management and care governance in the absence of the Home manager, including working as Nurse in charge.
* Medication administration and Care plan quality
* Providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to our residents
* Ensuring resident safety and implementing safeguarding policies
* Team management and shift planning
* Coaching, training and mentoring
* Infection prevention and control
* Liaising with General Practitioners and Multi-Disciplinary Teams
* Assisting the Home Manager with care home inspections and visits where required
* Upholding clinical governance standards and leading clinical governance meetings
About you

You will have developed leadership skills by supervising teams, ideally in care home settings, and you will have excellent knowledge of safeguarding, DoLs and the Mental Capacity Act, putting this into practice when guiding others. Wherever you may be in your career, we will also support you with further training and development to help you build your confidence and skills.
A few things will be essential to be successful in this role, and these are:
* A Nursing qualification recognised by the UK NMC
* A valid UK NMC PIN and registration to practice as Registered General Nurse(RGN)/Learning & Disability Nurse (RNLD)/Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
* Previous experience leading clinical/care teams and managing team performance
* Good understanding of clinical policy frameworks
* Ability to perform physical tasks such as assisting residents with their mobility
* Flexibility to work different shifts and a proportion of Bank Holidays, as necessary

Buckingham House
Buckingham House is a purpose-built Care Home providing caregiving for nursing, residential and dementia residents by well-trained and well-led carers and nurses. The home facilitates 24-hour personalised care whilst supporting people to have their independence and dignity. The home boasts a number of lounges, two dining area, two cafes, a library and hair dressing salon, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens and patio areas. Each room is en-suite and decorated to a hotel standard, whilst each floor has a modern equipped bathroom facility. The head chef who won MMCG Masterchef of the year, has developed a seasonal menu to suit all palettes, and promote choice. She meets with the people living at the home to hear their requirements and this is reflected in her menu. Looking at ways to engage with the people that live at the home in a meaningful way is important to the activities coordinator. The people living at the home are invited to participate in clubs such as gardening, baking, maintenance facilitated by the staff of the home. She also has engaged with the community having local Zumba, Tai Chi, Music for therapy companies attend the home. Once your loved one is at the home we operate a “home from home†feel allowing you to visit the home at any time and offer the opportunities for you to join in any events or meals. Our care plans are also structured and reviewed regularly using information provided by family, friends and medical professionals to ensure a meaning quality of life.
