Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Invoice Creation: Generate accurate invoices based on customer orders, services provided, and products sold
* Invoice Tracking: Ensure all invoices accurately recorded, tracked, and followed up on to ensure timely payment
* Accounts Receivable Support: Assist in monitoring outstanding invoices and coordinating with internal team and sometimes customers to resolve discrepancies or payment issues
* Purchasing & Ordering: Coordinate the purchase of goods and services for the company, ensuring all orders are to approved suppliers and placed on time and within budget
* Vendor Relations: Maintain and build positive relationships with vendors, ensuring the best pricing and timely deliveries
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, and payments for auditing and reporting purposes
* Financial Reporting Support: Assist the finance team with data entry and the preparation of financial reports as needed
* Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all financial records are accurate, comply with company policies, and adhere to relevant regulations
* Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the finance department, including handling phone inquiries, filing, and other clerical tasks
* Team Support: Be prepared to support colleagues if their work volumes exceed capacity and assist with cover on other roles when required

* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
