As a Project Planner within our Complex Infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects. Your expertise in planning and project management will be instrumental in creating, maintaining, and analysing project schedules to support our clients' goals in transportation, urban development, and critical infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule Preparation: Develop and maintain baseline project schedules, identifying critical paths, resources, work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, and documentation specific to complex infrastructure projects.
* Interactive Planning: Lead interactive planning workshops, ensuring robust and realistic schedules are created using best practices and benchmarking data.
* Schedule Alignment: Ensure schedules are logically linked and aligned with project deliverables, execution plans, and contracting strategies.
* Progress Updates: Validate work progress, update schedules, and manage processes to ensure accuracy in line with complex infrastructure project requirements.
* Variance Analysis: Identify and explain variances between schedules, plans, earned value, and forecasts. Communicate these findings clearly to the project team, including key performance indicators like Earned Value, SPI, and CPI.
* Resource Management: Collaborate with the project team to define and maintain required resources and man-hours, ensuring alignment with cost control.
* Reporting and Communication: Prepare project reports, trending charts, and schedule analyses. Lead progress updates and communications tailored to stakeholders in the infrastructure sector.
Required Skills and Experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Knowledge of project planning software, preferably Primavera P6.
* Understanding of project management techniques (e.g., critical path method, earned value analysis) with relevance to infrastructure projects.
* Experience in project planning, analysis, and reporting, particularly in the transportation, urban development, or critical infrastructure sectors.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
* Proven ability to lead meetings and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
