Bosvena is a brand-new school which will transform the lives of young people with SEMH needs. We are seeking a SEN senior leader or Headteacher who is looking to extend and develop their experience within a specialist Multi Academy Trust.
Job Overview
We are excited to announce the opening of Bosvena, a brand-new school with the ambition to transform the life opportunities of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This school will be the only SEMH school within Cornwall providing a continuum of specialist provision and will provide the support to enable pupils to learn, thrive and succeed in their education.
Bosvena is close to Bodmin with easy access to the A30/A38. The school is due to open in September 2025 and the building works are progressing well.
The school will cater for 65 pupils who are aged 4 to 16 and will serve the community of Cornwall.
Bosvena School will be research focussed, innovative and aspirational in its practice where the development of pupils’ SEMH skills are at the centre of our work.

We are looking for an inspirational leader to be the Headteacher of this new school who can join us in April 2025 to lead and develop the school in preparation for opening in September 2025.
About the role
As the Headteacher, you will develop an outstanding provision, which will transform the educational and future life opportunities of all our pupils.
You will have an infrastructure of support from central services for Finance, HR and IT including a network of supportive Headteachers from other schools alongside central SEN support.
The role would suit an experienced SEN senior leader or Headteacher who is looking to extend and develop their experience of headship and leadership, by leading a school within a Multi Academy Trust. The successful applicant should have a strong track record at a leadership level within a SEN School and share the Trust’s vision and values for providing a high quality SEND offer. Candidates will need to be strong communicators with proven strengths in engaging, inspiring, innovating and motivating staff at all levels and working with the local community.

• A motivated staff group that is fully engaged in the goal of achieving excellence in all areas of school life and who are committed to continuing personal and professional development.
• A safe environment that protects the welfare of Pupils and Young People and staff in the school.
• Meeting all statutory requirements as defined by the DfE, Ofsted and other external bodies and achieving the highest inspection ratings possible.
• The commercial success of the school as defined by pupil occupancy, the rigorous management of costs and the development and implementation of growth plans as appropriate.
