Aryan Medical Centre located in Basildon has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our team on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours a week.
Main duties of the job
* Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols.
* Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients, including those with long term conditions (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.
* Maintain skills and an interest in diabetes, asthma, COPD or coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke/TIA and contraception.
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nurse and GPs.
* Wound care / ulcer care / doppler, removal of sutures, ECGs, ear syringing.
* Travel clinic, to include vaccinations, medications and advice.
* Routine immunisations / childhood immunisations according to British schedule.
* Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, cervical smears etc and ensure cleanliness of any equipment used.
* Perform investigatory procedures requested by the GPs.
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate.
* Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required.
* Administrative duties including accurate notes of consultations and all documentation.
* Student/staff education and training including inductions.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
Experience
* Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course, experience working in GP surgery is mandatory.
* Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
* Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, cervical screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
* Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
* Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
* Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
