Head of Engineering (Platform/SRE/Operations focused) - Leading Entertainment Provider
Permanent Role, Watford, Hybrid (2-3x a week in office)
up to £160,000 Base Salary + 25% Bonus + benefits
We are a partnered with a leading entertainment provider in their search for a Head of Engineering who will drive processes to ensure the scalability and stability of their digital services and platforms, within their innovation hub.
As part of their priority to drive innovation and stay ahead of the market, they are building a engineering function where all new front-end products and integrations of the backend for front-end will be developed by a different team. After delivery of these products and services, you'll be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, resilience and scalability to meet the demand of their large customer base.
To be successful in this role, you'll have a track record of implementing platform strategy and support incident management and a knack for optimizing CMS systems to meet business objectives. You'll also have experience in highly regulated industries - bonus if in the gaming/betting space!
Role Purpose:
* Ensure stability and operational excellence of digital services and platforms.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, digital release management, and optimization.
* Champion the digital agenda and maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Lead and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement digital platform strategy and support incident management.
* Build a digital platform team from scratch, strategizing the number of resource required to successfully achieve business objectives.
* Maintain and optimize content management systems.
* Collaborate with Heads of Digital Products and Engineering to enhance product features.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in similar roles, preferably in the Online Betting/Gaming industries but must be fast-paced, heavily regulated environment.
* Experience building a DevOps, Platform team from the ground up in a fast-moving environment (start-up/scale-up).
* Expertise in site reliability, platform engineering, and systems administration.
* Track record of ensuring systems and platforms are maintainable, reliable, scalable and resilient in accordance with a highly large customer base.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
