***HR MANAGER*** (Transport sector)
Robert Half is partnering with a transport operator in Berkshire for their next HR Manager to join the team.
Role:
The HR Manager will lead the human resources function for the company overseeing 900 employees across multiple sites. This role involves managing the full HR lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The HR Manager will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, aligning HR strategies with business goals while maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day HR operations and make impactful changes.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
* Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent across various roles
* Manage the end-to-end recruitment process
* Collaborate with line managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely and effective hiring processes.
Employee Relations and Support:
* Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers, addressing concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
* Conduct investigations into employee complaints and manage disciplinary and grievance processes.
* Promote a positive work environment by ensuring fair treatment and open communication across all levels.
Performance Management and Development:
* Oversee performance appraisal processes and support managers in setting clear goals and development plans for their teams.
* Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities to upskill employees.
* Implement and manage succession planning strategies to ensure business continuity.
HR Policies and Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with employment laws, health and safety regulations, and internal policies.
* Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to staff.
* Manage employee contracts, benefits, and payroll coordination in line with legal requirements.
HR Strategy and Projects:
* Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals.
* Lead HR projects such as diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement surveys, and compensation reviews.
* Provide HR analytics and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
Workforce Management and Well-being:
* Manage employee attendance, absence, and return-to-work processes effectively.
* Promote employee well-being through initiatives such as mental health support, flexible working options, and employee assistance programs.
* Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to improve employee retention.
Requirements:
* Experience in HR management experience
* Knowledge in UK employment laws and legislative policies.
* CIPD qualification desirable but not a must.
* FULLY 5 DAYS ON SITE
