About the company
My client is a Rail & Civil Engineering contractor who has seen brilliant growth in the last couple of years and wants to see this continue. They have built up a brilliant nationwide reputation and are a family-run business with the owner still being the MD. Currently operating at a turnover of £85M, they have built a great client base dealing directly with the likes of Network Rail, London Underground, and TFL. They act as a sub-contractor as well as a main contractor within the industry and expect to be turning over £100M by 2026. They're multi-disciplined and cover several sectors within rail such as P-way, OLE, reactive works, rail electrification, communications, and infrastructure. The projects they get involved in can vary in price from £10,000 - £25M.
About the opportunity
Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next step in your career? Are you with a company that doesn't value you and doesn't reward you like you should be? My client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who doesn't mind getting stuck in and turning their hand to anything that comes their way. Your traditional duties will involve appraising tender documents and preparing estimates as necessary, pricing of Bills of Quantities including build costs, preliminaries, and fees, as well as measuring and pricing accurate complete cost plans. You will be working from the office in Eastbourne or Lewes on City Fibre contracts. This is a new division for the client, and they are looking to build the office and deliver this ongoing framework for City Fibre. A background in utilities and telecoms and experience with NEC contracts is a must. You may also get involved in P-Way and OLE projects, but there are opportunities for you to work on civil engineering and infrastructure schemes involving concrete works, earthworks, piling, and demolition.
Benefits & Rewards
This is a family-run company, so you will have access to every member of the team, including the Managing Director. You will get involved in several different types of projects; no day is the same working for this company. You will be rewarded with a great basic salary ranging between £60,000 - £70,000 + a package.
Requirements
It is preferred that you are a degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor. However, it is essential you have at least 4 years of experience working for a Civil Engineering or utility contractor as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK. A driving licence is also useful for this role as you may be needed to travel to sites.
