Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Days & Lates
We are working with a well-established family business with over 50 years experience in manufacturing specialised canine nutrition. The Maintenance Engineer will work alongside and closely support the Engineering Manager. This is a full-time position, based at our Stradbroke site, working Monday to Friday with a mix of earlies and lates, and some weekend hours (with paid overtime) as required.
Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Efficiently maintain & repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
2. Undertake diagnostic and fault-finding procedures.
3. Conduct routine maintenance and general upkeep of plant equipment.
4. Attend mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
5. Assist with small projects and continuous improvements.
The individual will also need to show a commitment to quality and safety as well as assisting in keeping the factory safe and compliant.
Desired Skills and Experience:
1. Electrically qualified 17th/18th edition and a competent multi-skilled engineer.
2. Previous experience in FMCG or food industry with packaging experience beneficial.
3. Resourceful, driven with a can-do attitude.
4. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and variations to workload.
5. High level of problem-solving skills.
6. Experience working with industrial electrical systems, plant machinery, and automated packaging machinery.
7. Understanding electrical drawings.
8. A balance of electrical and mechanical skills.
9. Ability to work as part of a team & unsupervised.
10. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely and communicate effectively with staff and contractors at all levels.
11. Maintain and update planned preventative maintenance schedules.
12. General understanding of building and site services.
13. Ability to identify faults or hazards and troubleshoot system failures.
14. Understanding of Fluid Power systems and drawings.
15. Understanding of Health & Safety Policies.
16. Be flexible with daily working hours for handovers and occasional overtime.
