I am looking for personal care for a Woman

Drivers licence required: Yes
Own vehicle needed: Yes
Hours per week:
Monday – Friday, 9am – 10.30am & 3pm - 4.30pm but flexibility important
Hourly pay rate:
£13.50
I am a 35-year-old mum of two, to a vibrant 13-year-old daughter and a sensitive 7-year-old son. I am seeking support with caring for myself and household, as well as assistance with my son. I have Spinocerebellar Ataxia SCA3 which progressively causes me to lose my coordination and balance. This affects my speech and swallowing, causes occasional blurred vision and reduces my mobility significantly. I use a wheelchair for longer distances and crutch with support of someone for shorter distances.
The successful candidate must be able to lift the electric and manual wheelchair over two steps at the front door.
Duties include:
Cooking
Bathroom assistance
Support with laundry; washing, drying and putting away
Support with changing and washing bed linen, weekly
Occasional emptying of commode
Support and assistance with going outside with my son
Support with household cleaning, daily
Occasional school drop-off or pick-up
Candidate qualities:
Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Must be comfortable with pets
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Additional requirements
Non-smoker due to medical reasons, Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
