As
a Painter and Decorator, you will play a crucial role in being responsible for
the maintenance and upkeep of all final finishes on all interiors and exteriors
including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants and bars and back of house
areas.
Reporting
to the Director of Engineering, the Painter and Decorator will bring to life
the creative vision of Broadwick Soho and its array of enchanting spaces,
including our guest rooms, Flute rooftop bar, Dear Jackie restaurant, Bar
Jackie café & restaurant, The Nook (our exclusive guest-only lounge), and a
chic private dining room. From the simple to the extraordinary, this role is
responsible for positive first impressions with passion and attention to
detail.
We
believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different
tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and
colleagues.
You
will work with brilliant colleagues across the Hotel so that we are one team
delivering a seamless and memorable guest experience.
Your
Role
* Carry out painting, decorating
and wallpapering tasks across guestrooms, public areas, restaurants and
back of house to the highest standard
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning,
sanding, filling cracks and priming to ensure a smooth finish
* Apply various finishes such as
paint, varnish and wallpaper according to design specifications
* Conduct touch-ups and minor
repairs as required to maintain an impeccable appearance
* Ensure work areas are kept
clean, organised, and safe during and after projects
* Work collaboratively with other
departments to schedule painting and decorating tasks with minimal
disruption to guests.
* Monitor and maintain an
inventory of paints, brushes, rollers, and other decorating supplies
* Comply with health and safety
regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times including
wearing the correct uniform and protective equipment
* Assist in special projects,
renovations, and seasonal refreshes of décor as required
What
do we need from you?
* Previous experience as a painter and decorator in a
luxury hospitality environment is essential
* NVQ painting and decorating Level 2 as a minimum
* You work well under pressure, are a multi-tasker and
prioritises effectively
* You always look for ways to improve things and you have
plenty of initiative
* You are flexible to be able to work nights and some
weekends if necessary so we can deliver exceptional service to our guests
* You work well with a team who are passionate, creative
and have exceptional attention to detail
