About The Role
The role holder will lead on the PR, Sponsorships and Events for the business to develop and implement a communications strategy that supports both external activity and the marketing plan and promotes and maintains the business’s brand and reputation. They will also help the Marketing assistant manage internal communications.
This will involve coordinating relationships with media contacts and industry influencers, and developing and enhancing relationships with clients, suppliers and internal business partners.
Core Responsibilities
* Develop and implement an external PR & Events strategy and programme of activity that is fully integrated with the marketing plan and supports key business initiatives.
Public relations
* Responsible for external media and public relations and managing the PR agency relationship.
* Work with the PR agency to develop and implement a PR plan, to build brand reputation, and ensure effective media coverage across trade/regional press.
* Work with internal stakeholders and the executive team to enhance brand reputation.
* Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate relationships with industry influencers to ensure they understand and are briefed on the strategic narrative and messaging.
* Manage any required crisis external communications, ensuring reputation is protected, negativity minimized and source supporting information from within the business.
Events
* Design and oversee the delivery of external events programmes, working with internal stakeholders to identify and secure appropriate speakers and help shape content.
* Manage delivery of communications to maximise attendance for events.
* Stakeholder management and ownership of supplier relationships (venue finding, production etc).
* Put in place an event management policy and process including appropriate tools to help delivery such as delegate management.
* Track developments in the events market to constantly evaluate what we do and ensure delivery remains relevant and innovative.
* Work with Marketing assistant and support management of internal communications to support and help shape internal events programmes.
Sponsorship
* Work with the wider marketing communications team to maximise the benefit of sponsorship agreements and relationships.
* Own and manage the relationship with sponsorship contacts, regularly reviewing sponsorship benefits and opportunities.
Internal Comms
* Develop and implement internal communications strategies to support and align all employees to the company objectives, and ultimately fostering an inclusive company culture.
* Direct Marketing assistant to work with key stakeholders to communicate key company messages.
* Help Marketing assistant manage internal communication platforms ensuring content is relevant and up to date ensuring brand voice and messaging is consistent across all channels.
* Work with Marketing assistant to gather employee feedback and measure communication effectiveness and implement necessary improvements.
You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by senior leadership.
About You
Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience of setting and implementing an external communications strategy especially for events.
* Track record of successfully delivering large and small scale corporate events – Adviser facing preferred.
* Track record of successfully delivering sponsorship and partnership programmes.
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
* A strong understanding of the wrap platform market and how adviser firms operate preferred.
* Strong experience of supporting and working alongside sales and marketing communications teams.
* Exceptional attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Excellent drive with ability to work unsupervised under own initiative.
* Ability to work well under pressure, and to tight deadlines.
* A good understanding of the UK financial services regulatory environment preferred.
* Anticipates and responds to potential opportunities and threats for the business relevant to the conditions of the market and industry.
* Proficient with event management tools, CRM systems and marketing platforms and the management of data between these systems.
