As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the AIML Data Platform Team, you will solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions. Through code and cloud infrastructure, you will configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated infrastructure to independently decompose and iteratively improve on existing solutions. You are a significant contributor to your team by sharing your knowledge of end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability of your application or platform.
Job responsibilities
1. Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in their applications
2. Implements infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms in your remit
3. Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
4. Design and implement solutions to enhance the reliability and scalability of AI/ML
platforms and applications to accommodate fast growing demands.
5. Partner with product engineering teams to ensure the AI/ML systems are reliable and
high performing.
6. Develop observability, security, automation and fin-ops tools and orchestration.
7. Build strong cross-functional relationships that foster engagements across the
organization and deliver solutions to user problems.
8. Debug and solve issues in a production environment, identify root cause and
remediate.
9. Participates in on-call rotations, incident management and escalation workflows.
10. Take full ownership of problems, develop solutions, and acquire new knowledge to
complete the task.
11. Mentor and guide junior engineers.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
12. Formal training or certification on Site Reliability Engineering concepts and applied experience
13. Expertise in SRE principles, reliability, scalability and performance of application and
infrastructure.
14. Expertise in programming with Python and Infrastructure as Code, tools such as
Terraform.
15. Experience working with distributed systems and cloud-native architecture in AWS.
16. Systematic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a complex system.
17. Excellent communication skills and ability to represent and present business and
technical concepts to stakeholders.
18. Self-managed, self-motivated with strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
19. Prior experience working in AI, ML, or Data engineering.
20. Expertise in container orchestration/Kubernetes.
21. Prior experience developing Automation frameworks/AI Ops.
22. Prior experience building observability and telemetry tools.
