Main duties of the job
At Cygnet Healthcare, we have a strong occupational focus through support and direction from Clinical Leads and our Occupational Therapy Directors. We use evidence-based practice within each of our service lines, as defined by our clinical steering groups, of which Occupational Therapists play a key role. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work as an autonomous clinician, providing specialist assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction. You will hold supervisory responsibility for others and take a leadership role in specific projects. An integral part of this role will be supporting student education within the team. This role includes opportunities for learning, development, and research, supported by a robust appraisal and supervision structure based on RCOT's Career Development Framework.

Job Title: Specialist Occupational Therapist
Location: Long Eaton Day Services
Salary: Up to £15,538 (£38,845 pro rata per annum) (dependent on experience) Hours: 16 hours (part-time)
Contract: Permanent
Long Eaton Day Services is a mixed-gender service for individuals aged 16 years and above, which specializes in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities, and those with autism. Our Day Services have a focus on demonstrating outcomes and value through activities, which are derived from our professionals, parents, carers, and most importantly the people who spend their days with us.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care, which will encompass OT assessments, treatment, and management of service users within the service. In this role, you will assess, implement, and develop an OT treatment programme according to service users' diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly within the multidisciplinary team.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team, we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups and become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence-based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathways.
Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction
