InHealth is the largest NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) provider in England and our Surrey and North East Hampshire (also known as the Jarvis) Breast Screening Service (BSS) that has an eligible population of approximately 186,000 women invited to screening over a 3-year screening round, is the largest of all our breast screening services in England. The staffing structure has over fifty members of staff. The static breast screening unit is located at the Jarvis Breast Centre and provides screening and assessment service. Screening is also carried out on five mobile units covering a large geographical area throughout Surrey and North East Hampshire. Screening patients are referred to six NHS Trusts for surgical and oncological treatment.
Main duties of the job
As Trainee Breast Care Nurse at InHealth, you will champion and provide professional nursing care in the support of women undergoing breast assessment investigations, ensuring they are fully supported and receive the best possible care.

We offer screening at our state-of-the-art Jarvis Breast Centre and through five mobile units, reaching a broad geographical area. * Be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
* Provide emotional, informational, and practical support to women undergoing screening, helping them navigate their journey with confidence and care.
* Guide patients through the treatment pathway, making sure they have all the information they need to make informed decisions about their care.
* Offer specialized support to women at high risk for familial breast cancer, ensuring they feel empowered and well-informed.
* Help coordinate care across the screening pathway, ensuring smooth transitions and seamless patient experiences.
* Work in an innovative, forward-thinking environment where your input is valued and your development is supported.
* Play a role in promoting breast care services in the local community and the wider breast screening catchment area.
Who We're Looking For:
* Someone with a genuine passion for patient care, confidentiality, and supporting women's health.
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles, and GDPR is important.
* A good understanding of the NHSBSP Breast Screening Programme (desirable but not essential).
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly, empathetic approach to working with patients.
* The ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team, staying organized and managing your time effectively.
* A commitment to professional growth and a proactive approach to learning and development.
* A caring, compassionate, and supportive attitude, with the ability to handle difficult conversations and help patients through challenging times.
You’ll Need:
* To be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
* Experience supporting patients through a cancer diagnosis (desirable but not essential).
* The ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing situations, and work independently.
* A professional and compassionate approach, especially when interacting with patients and the public.
