Job summary
Do you want to be part of an innovative, dynamic Talking Therapy (formerly IAPT Service)? Are you passionate about delivering step 2 evidence-based psychological therapies for people with common mental health problems (depression and anxiety disorders) in various modalities including telephone, face-to-face, or online, both individually and in groups?
We currently have a vacancy for a suitably qualified PWP at our Whitby office to cover maternity leave. Please note that applicants must hold the Certificate for Low Intensity Interventions from an accredited provider; otherwise, their application will not be considered. Candidates should be eligible to register with BABCP.
The North Yorkshire Talking Therapies Service is renowned for its innovative approaches to working with perinatal women, vulnerable veterans, older adults, and our commitment to staff wellbeing. The service emphasizes continuous professional development and provides strong clinical and caseload management supervision to support career development. Main duties of the job
The NHS Talking Therapies Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will play a key role in shaping the future of the service by delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions. The role involves a balance of assessments and managing a clinical caseload. All PWPs are involved in delivering Guided Self Help, Psychoeducation Courses, and Computerised programmes.

* PWP qualification from a British Psychological Society accredited PWP programme or apprenticeship
* Passed the apprenticeship end point assessment if qualifying via apprenticeship
* Registered or working towards registration with BABCP or BPS as a PWP
Desirable
* Skills in literacy, numeracy, and IT
* Background in mental health nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or psychology
Experience
Essential
* Experience working with people with common mental health problems in an IAPT setting
* Ability to deliver a range of evidence-based low-intensity interventions
* Experience in screening, assessment, and managing risk
Desirable
* Experience in drug/alcohol management
