We are seeking a semi senior accountant to join an established local practice. The main responsibilities for this role are as follows:
1. To manage the process of preparing and submitting accounts for a variety of limited companies, sole traders, and charities.
2. To prepare and finalise accounts and tax returns.
3. To manage the process of VAT returns for a variety of businesses.
4. To prepare other financial documents such as cashflow forecasts and management accounts.
Experience and skills required
This role requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a UK small/medium sized accountancy practice. You must be able to confidently manage a portfolio of clients from start to completion and be able to prepare accounts and VAT returns independently.
You will be the main point of contact for clients and need to provide an excellent service as well as communicate in a timely manner. You will delegate to, train, and review the work of juniors. You will follow standard processes and improve and enhance them.
Skills required are:
1. Excellent time management and organisation skills.
2. Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.
3. Preferably at least part qualified.
4. Preferably experienced in using software such as Taxclac, Xero, and Quickbooks.
5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
6. A commitment to providing an excellent service to clients and to meet all submission deadlines.
