Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Alarm Installation/Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing fire alarm systems in both residential and commercial properties.
This role involves working on a variety of fire alarm systems, ensuring they are installed to the highest safety standards, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
As part of the role, the engineer will also participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota for urgent service calls.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in residential and commercial buildings.
Conducting fault finding, testing, and repairs on various fire alarm systems.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Providing technical support and guidance to customers and colleagues.
Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work completed.
Participating in an emergency out-of-hours rota to respond to urgent service calls.
Liaising with clients and contractors to ensure the smooth execution of installation and maintenance projects.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and servicing.
Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including conventional, addressable, and wireless systems.
Understanding of relevant British Standards (BS 5839) and industry regulations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
FIA (Fire Industry Association) or equivalent fire alarm training certification.
Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent).
Experience with emergency lighting systems.
CSCS/ECS card.
