To be able to work as an autonomous Occupational Therapist including managing own caseload and providing Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children and residents as required. This includes prioritising needs and completing administration tasks. To be able to follow the Occupational Therapy process including delivering standardised and non-standardised assessments, interventions, and evaluation with the children and residents. To be able to advise on specialist equipment and domestic and workplace environmental alternations. To write records and reports and ensure that the database is kept up to date in a timely manner. To assist and support the therapy provision throughout the Trust as required by the Head of Clinical and Therapy. To liaise as required with professional networks. To attend the Clinical and Therapy meeting and other multidisciplinary team meetings as directed by the Head of Clinical and Therapy. To attend meetings with the therapy department to discuss wider therapy issues as required. To be able to attend professional meetings as directed by Head of Clinical and Therapy and be able to confidently share the childrens therapy progress and outcomes. To hold line management of identified occupational therapy staff, conducting supervisions, preceptorship plans and appraisals, and all other line-management responsibilities. To oversee the skill set process to identify and monitor key areas of progress and development for children and assist with the goal setting process across the care and therapy departments. To supervise Occupational Therapy students whilst on placement at the trust and monitor progress and feedback from student placement experiences to support review processes within the trust and wider professionals. To maintain own continuing professional development and use reflective practice to evaluate and update current practice. To provide support and coaching to care and education staff regarding the therapeutic needs of students and residents. To take an active role in undertaking training in personal and professional skills and in the Trusts ethos and systems
