The Role:
As a Long-Term Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in our school by providing one-on-one support to a child with significant behaviour needs. Working closely with the class teacher and our SEN department, you will develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and academic progress. Additionally, you will offer general support to other students within the class, fostering a positive learning environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to a child with significant behaviour needs, tailoring strategies to their individual requirements.
2. Foster positive behaviour and engagement through the development and implementation of effective intervention techniques.
3. Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN department to create and deliver personalized learning plans.
4. Support the overall learning and development of students within the class, creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
5. Implement behaviour management strategies consistently and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
6. Collaborate with other members of the school staff to share insights, best practices, and resources.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a behaviour support role.
2. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also taking initiative and working independently.
6. Relevant qualifications and training in behaviour management or special educational needs (SEN) are essential.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
